Hey.

I was at this show and in my opinion it is the best GD show I have ever seen. I just can't get over the fact that it is one of the only shows on this site that does not have a existing soundboard.
It was the only night they ever played there. So what do you think about a SBD of this? Is there one existing?
If not, overall, what do you think of this show if you heard it at all?

I have this show on cd and Ive listened to it but nothing stood out (except for the rare performence of good time blues, and the fact that they didnt play promised land!). Though I am not impressed by the source, it needs a board no doubt.

OK, I listened to it and... the Scarlet Fire transition is excellent. Nice exploratory jamming. The boys were not in any hurry on the back nine. Thanks for pointing to this show.

BTW, my favorite of the AUD sources was the Senns: http://www.archive.org/details/gd82-04-03.sennheiser.fishman.23824.sbeok.shnf

I agree with Justin that this show needs a SBD...the AUD versions i've heard at best whet the appetite for better overall sound.

The EYES from this great show is a rarity for early '80's in that it is relaxed and groovy and not speeded-out and rushed through like so many of its counterparts at this point in Dead history.

If there is a truly superior AUD source of this show, point me to it...but so far I've yet to find it. Bring on a SBD!

We need a bat phone to Rhino to get a SBD out.

...Make that a rhino phone to Rhino.

you need to ask yourself ... will the SBD be crispy? or even tasty? will it shine higher than 5/8/77? these are the questions that need be answered oh grasshopper ...

I read once that anytime they played" It's all over now" it was a good night, so maybe it is up there with 5/8/77. All it needs is a pristine 77 quality board......

Well, 2 of the 3 auds listed seem like they are quality captures and should do fine. Have you checked out that latest Nak 700 up from Wagner and Minches?

Also that Sennheiser 441 FOB is loaded with HQ capture reviews. I love 441's

perhaps I'm the wrong guy to respond as I rarely prefer early 80's SBD's over high quality auds

there is a board of this somewhere out there, beneath the pale moonlight...I recall many years ago going to a bootleg convention and this dude was selling a really nice copy of this on CD for $50...I passed, but he did play me a sample...there is a really cool scarlet transition to fire jam...
